Thoroughly aromatic, with rich, ripe black fruits and a touch of cocoa.  Berry fruit and cocoa on the palate, supported by polished tannins.  There’s a beautiful intensity to the flavors, but no heaviness.  Sweet non-fruit overtones on the finish.  Medium plus in body and length. Pair with braised beef, game birds, grilled lamb, or roast pork.  Sauteed or roasted vegetables, black bean dishes, and onion tart are vegetarian options.  Manchego cheese goes well.
