Tasting Notes

This uber-soft and round Pinot Noir offers up bright red fruits and cherries galore, along with black pepper, cinnamon, baking spice and some mineral-earth notes (forest bark and iron). It is medium weight with a longer finish.

Edna Valley, located a mere five miles from the Pacific Ocean in the Central Coast, has the longest growing season in California. The region boasts both oceanic and volcanic soils as well as cool temperatures caused by near constant maritime conditions of fog and wind. Ideal for Chardonnay, Edna Valley is known for elegant wines with well-balanced acidity.

The grapes are hand-picked during the cool early morning hours and immediately transported to the winery where each cluster is de-stemmed to prevent harsh green notes from the finished wine. To extract color and flavor, the grapes were cold soaked for several days. Fermentation took place in small tanks with frequent punch downs to break up the cap. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed and racked intoFrench oak barrels to age for 12 months prior to bottling.
